Information about the event

The Hamburg chapter of Bauhaus of the Seas Sails will host seven fellowships that focus on Regenerative Menu by inviting four local culinary practitioners and three international (artistic) research practices to explore a different approach to food: How can the act of eating become a regenerative instead of an extractive act? How can we heal and not hurt our surroundings and fellow beings on this planet? The fellowship program aims to be an exercise in radical inclusivity at the dinner table –because what does it mean if everyone, human and more than human, ‘eats well’? What tools, habits, ingredients and foodways do we need to not only survive but to thrive?

During this event the selected fellows present themselves and their upcoming projects to each other and the general public.

This project takes place in collaboration with the Bauhaus of the Seas Sails project. At the intersection of art, culture, social integration, science, and technology, it extends the so-called European Green Deal of 2019 to coastal areas.

Further information

The Bauhaus of the Seas Sails project calls for fostering collective and caring relationships between human and more than human actors to create sustainable, inclusive, and hopeful future perspectives. As a pilot city, Hamburg focuses on a regenerative menu created by selected fellows, exploring the impacts of extensive human interventions in nature and associated ecological changes on the Hanseatic foodscape. It uses speculative gastronomy as a tool to reimagine its future.
